Mini Monday: Mid-Century Modern

Happy July!!!  Another month means a new MCM Bee block.  I can't wait to see what Deborah has prepared for us.

April block for Carla
In the meantime, here are pictures of my April through June bee blocks that I haven't shown you.

Carla requested blocks to make her own Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt. My hand applique skills are non-existent so I chose to make a Tulip Lady Fingers block.  Her preference of text prints as background fabrics was a good excuse to cut into my stash.

May block for Suz
Suz sent background fabric for her feather blocks and asked for turquoise and orange fabrics for the actual feathers. I had no problem finding these colors in my scrap bin.  We used the Anna Maria Horner feather pattern.

June block for Linda
For June, Linda asked for help in completing a WIP and requested stacked brick blocks using Kona Ash and Kona White with fabric strips of strawberry and lime.  I have made this block before and it's trickier than it looks.   I do love the scrap-busting feature of this block and Linda's idea of using two different background colors.

Let the vacation begin!
I am traveling once again so my posts will be sporadic (what's new, right?!) until I return home from two weddings and a quilt retreat.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy stitching,
