Friday Finish: Christmas Ornaments

I think I should call this week Liberty scraps week. I have had the idea of using teeny, thin scrap strips to make Christmas ornaments for a while. Luckily, I was able to find the bag of these strips where they have been accumulating.

Voila!

Voila!

I took glass ornaments from the craft store and filled them with strips of Liberty. Most of these strips are that first cut of the frayed selvage before cutting 1.5” strips for this quilt. A thin ribbon of Liberty is then tied to the ornament top.

Sadly, I don’t have many red or green Liberty prints. Not all Christmas ornaments are all red or green though, right?! It’s fun to give these gorgeous fabrics a new life.

This version has a Liberty hanger.

I have only made three so far. I also have a collection of Carolyn Friedlander strips I have been saving for this project. Stay tuned!
