Spring Break Crafting

We just returned from a four day trip to the beach with our two youngest kids for their spring break. Even though they are in college/law school, they still seem to enjoy vacationing with us. Of course it could have been the destination of St. Kitts they enjoyed ;-))

I made another shirt!

I made this shirt before QuiltCon (still need to post about that event!). While the weather turned too cold and rainy for wearing in Nashville for QuiltCon, it was perfect for wearing at the beach with a pair of white shorts (no pics of me in shorts 😉). It’s the same Top A pattern I used for this shirt, but this time I added a bit of length. The fabric is Nani Iro double gauze from Imagine Gnats.

We all agreed this would be the relaxing by the pool/beach kind of vacation, and I came prepared with reading and crafting material. Our first day I found a comfy chair with a nice view and parked myself there with a book and my embroidery. My kind of vacation!

My husband and I ended up with stomach issues the first night after consuming the delicious dinner pictured above. After that, “relaxing” by the pool/beach was all we were capable of doing. At least the cool breezes and gorgeous scenery were conducive to recuperating.

My husband rented a pool/beach side cabana for me to enjoy on our last day. I must admit I enjoyed being spoiled with that luxury. They had to kick me out when the day was coming to an end!

We had to return to reality all too soon. I did get some extra knitting time in when the second leg of our flight was canceled.

I also did some knitting at the race track this past weekend. My confidence in knitting is improving, and I am enjoying this current project. Of course, knitting in a pool cabana is preferable to knitting at a race track ;-))

Where is your favorite public place to craft?

Happy stitching,
