Friday Finish: Scout Tee — Rene' Creates

For the first time, since the '80's anyway, I made myself something to wear! My friend Caroline gave me a lesson in all the steps of making a Scout Tee from pattern sizing to sewing with knits to finishing the garment.

I selected an Art Gallery Fabric knit fabric that is super soft and used stitches on my Janome Horizon that haven't been used (by me) before. I am pretty sure this is the first time I have sewn with jersey fabric on a sewing machine. I made sure to use a jersey/ball point needle but am not confident that my tension was perfect. I know I did not do the best job in matching thread color.

I kept forgetting that I wasn't to use a scant 1/4" seam

All that being said, I am pretty happy with my new shirt! I even wore it out of the house when my husband and I went to dinner! I only wish I had a better picture besides the selfie I took in my closet.

Caroline is a great teacher, and creating at Caroline's has extra benefits of chatting with friends, receiving moral support, and being fed extremely well!
